OMG, that is sooooo true!!! So many rooms have that likkle lippy ting...somewhere!! I recall specifically room 3 at Seastar. Small "bump" area heading into the bathroom. First time there, we figured this out real quick!!! And that was stone cold sober!!!! Took a day or so, then somehow the body adapted even when not sober! I have yet to figure this phenomena out. For me, I am almost always barefoot around the resort and in our room...so, first thing I do, is walk around and check each area out.

On top of that, the floors are always a force to be reckoned with fi sure. One small spill or drip from a freshly showered body and you are suddenly airborne. And ya don't hit softly!! Even with all this, we all love it and I can't wait to get back!!! So, I'll hit the ground, not running, but treading lightly....but ready to have the time of my life...again, and again......

I read about the lips at Seastar and still busted a big toe on it one early hungover morning. And this was after Sandie did it as well. I say put in better flushing toilets so you do not have to worry about it and level that floor.

we started tripping-toe stubbin, and stumbling since 1984, and from the very first day, we asked WHY? is that there???
we understand the toilets are plumbed above grade, and access may be needed....the one inch step here and there we assumed it might be to "squeegee" water out of the rooms....but even on a "yard like" grounds, all of a
sudden..."THERE'S A STEP"!...for no reason we can see....
it didnt take many trips (pun) to learn to bring small flashlights......
we would get back people would ask.."Hows was your trip"?
"which One ? was the reply....lol
"One of the laundry gals pipes up ,,"LOOK AT DA BLOOD"
"YES,THAT WOULD BE MINE" I said as my leg that at first gave no pain, started dishing it out in large bunches........"

want more read our blog? our first trip.........http://negril.com/forum/entry.php?58...-The-Beginning

Hey Jamaicarob here is a story I alwayse stay at the White Sands. When you are coming up from the beach there is about a one inch tile rise. Two years ago a lady who had way to many tripped and went face first into the concrete. She got hauled off to the Hospital came back two days later her nose busted and two black eyes. So maybe a toe isnt so bad. Steel toes wouldnt have saved her. Anyway thats my story. Peace

Oh wow! This is like AA - Jamaica Toe Stubbers Anon! I thought it was just! I have class, though. I manage to save the toe and get ball of my foot every time! You gotta head for the beach. Seawater does wonders for the wound and the flap! Painful. Maybe that's why they have so much pum runch and Stred Ripe .... medicine for the toe stubs!

Steel toe shoes, helmets, shin pads, wrist guards.....I realized my best accesserory in Negril is a good pair of non-slip shoes like Keens. Although ceramic tile floors are extremely practical from an endurance and cleaning standpoint, they are dangerous when wet....and when I'm in Jamaica, I tend to be wet.....

At least now I know it's not just ME! You never know how crucial that pinky toe is until you actually break it....ouch.

Perhaps that's why one of the local farewells is "Walk Good".... ?? LOL
