It depends on the policy of your hotel and I have never stayed at White Sands. We usually make the acquaintance of our housekeeper and tip her daily and an extra tip covers a load or 2 of laundry. But be sure this does not conflict with the hotel policy because you don't want to get your new friend in trouble.
