Trip Report - Saying Goodbye and Giving Thanks

Hey there Cool Chick (and Mr. Doppelganger)! What a great Trip Report and like everyone I'm so happy you're doing it quickly. I've been wondering about how you fared since some of your crazy picture posts at Catcha. Capital VIBE from the get, eh? Nothing like riding in with Chicken, then SeaStar and Eddie's before hitting the pillow? Well done. Went to Just Natural after the Boardie Bash because my ankles were cankles. Theresa detoxed me with an aloe shot and some celery juice. Then after we chatted for a while she insisted on giving me a foot massage. "On the house!" she insisted when I hedged about time and so forth. She fixed me up right, of course I wasn't going to accept it gratis. Throw in a memorable and completely comfortable and natural sex talk and you have one of those truly unique Jamaican experiences. Very special ladies. Please continue...

Guirigay!! This trip was an experience, to say the least! Yes, cankles, LOL, Mr. Doppelganger had a severe case. Those special ladies have an eye for cankles. I have been tossing aloe in my green smoothies at home for some time now, but now Mr. D gets it too! LOL, you got me snorting with the sex talk comment. Our conversation with Christine did turn in that direction as well. Hmmmmm, are we talking about another kind of blood circulation now?? I agree, a truly unique Jamaican experience

Wpyogi, thanks for the tour of the new Hylton site of Just Natural. I only walked across the street from Xtabi and never made it up to that spot yet. They are the most welcoming pleasant people to be with and share their natural wonders.

Loved your rain dribbling off the roof shot at Sunnyside, great composition. Just makes me feel warm and refreshed looking out at the beach.

Sure thing! Yes, the new place is obviously not as convenient as walking across the street. It just takes a bit more motivation. And a visit with those ladies is all the motivation I need.

Yes, that picture! I am no master photographer like some of the fantastic peeps on this board, but occasionally I get a good one. I remember sitting there in a pile of sweat. It was HOT. The rain came and cooled it off just enough. So refreshing.

Just Natural was one of my favorites of the entire trip. Great meal served by great people.

Reggae Roy! I'm sorry I missed you! We were quiet our last two nights at Catcha. I think you may have been there the same time...

Ok, I was off the board for a few days and this was the first post I read today and so glad I did!

You have me through all the emotions again. I am so glad you and +1 went on this trip, it sounds (at least so far) like it was everything it needed to be for you both! I remember you telling me back in the summer of the loss of your dogs. That is so hard, they are truly like family.
And I have to admit, just reading your story at Just Natural brought tears to my eyes

P.S. Chicken is the man! So happy you got to spend time with him again and you said something about him that I always find to be true as well. Everywhere you go people know and respect him and you get treated that way as well. I remember that was one of the first things I ever noticed about him. I came out of the airport once and all of the taxi guys started yelling "Hey need taxi?" and I just said Chicken and then they all stopped and turned and said "Oh, Chicken is right over here I will show you"

Anyways, continue on, love the report, love the photos! Can't wait to see you guys again in April!

AWWWWWWW, thanks Marley! That means a lot coming from you I am glad I made someone else cry b/c I was bawling when I wrote it, hahahahaah I can't wait for April either. Only 6 months away! And I definitely need a do over at Catcha. Don't get me wrong, it was absolutely wonderful. I just didn't get to sit in that hot tub or cliff jump!

Ok, where was I? Oh yeah, day drinking!

The rain stopped and we went for a long swim. With beer of course!



I happened to be wearing a skimpy Miller High Life bikini (thanks TIZZ!!!) which is quite out of character for me, but hey I'm in Jamaica! +1 apparently likey because what ensued was a creeper stalker husband photo shoot. I will spare you all the inappropriate evidence.

We say our goodbyes to Maureen and head down the beach (we are actually rolling at this point) to stop tree. Tony's Hut. I am hoping Grace is there! Along the way I buy some fruit - pineapple, banana, mango and sugar cane.



We arrive and my volume is turned up to 11 by now. GRACE!! Big hug and I give her my ipod to crank up some Beres. We had a long conversation about Beres in April but she didn't have any of his tunes on her ipod and I didn't have mine with. Another redstripe please!



I start passing the fruit out at the bar for everyone to share. A big shout out to Clarity - thanks for that post about sugar cane because I knew exactly what to do with it! A rasta shows up and I have a long conversation with him about life. It's already been an intense day for me so he has me in tears pretty quickly. (and it had nothing to do with my BAC level at this point, lol) Another heartfelt experience.

And then........OMFG is that ME BEHIND the bar in my binkini!!?????!!!!! Oh yeah, i had a mango to eat and I needed a knife

We hopped in a route at the end of Hylton and hopped out at Wise Choice. Needed to grab a few neccessities like overproof, sorrel juice and a fresh pear. We milled about the market. I had to point out the "Cock Soup" mix to +1, lol. Eventually, we made our way back to Seastar to switch bags and head TO DA BEACH! First stop. Kuyaba. DJ was working the bar. Order up 2 OPs and Ting and a pepper shrimp.

Isn't DJ a great bartender? Aren't those mountain pepper shrimp the greatest? Love me some KUYABA!

But I must say, not as spicy this time. My tolerance must be increasing, HA! Double thumbs up for Kuyaba! I love to sit at the bar and stare off into the ocean.
