Please stay safe everyone!
Please stay safe everyone!
It's here now. 60MPH winds, many boardwalks lost already by the sea.Water is 8-9 blocks off the ocean into the towns. I hope the Chineese place will still deliver?
We are waiting up here in NY as well. I rode out most of Nicole last year in a little board house - no amenities but tight & dry. Once it hit, all we could do was stay put. NOW, up here it's the anticipation....that's the thing. Fortunately I am not on the coast but our area does get twisters. I have done all I can - yard clean up - which now looks like I never did a thing- moved all outside furniture into the garage and tied down everything else. Cleaned out the gutters, put up some extra water (I have a well - no power means no water), batteries, flashlights, candles, granola bars and now we just wait...
My heart goes out to those on the east end of the island (as well as other Caribbean nations) that were hit so hard by Sandy. I am grateful that Negril was spared. I pray that she dies down a bit and doesn't create that megastorm that everyone is talking about.
I hope everyone stays safe...
Blessings sent to all, especially the coastal areas. It is truly amazing how Mother Nature can make one truly WIDE AWAKE. Scary stuff fi sure. Living in West Virginia all of my life....I have been spared from Hurricanes, etc. However, thing be a changing.....we were drastically effected by the crazy storm that hit the east coast in June. I had never, ever experienced anything like that before...and I am 62 years old!!
This storm is touching us in a different way. Right now, just temps dropping, wind, and rain...but soon come blizzard like conditions especially in our mountainous areas. They are predicting 12-24 inches of the white stuff in certain counties of WV. The heavy kind of snow that will likely result in many power outages. Luckily, I live about 2-3 hours away from the mountains....so we will hopefully be spared. Some snow or ice is predicted for our city.
Praying that all will be safe during this crazy storm. Countdown to JA is getting closer, so I am holding on to that positive note.....soon come.

Thank you for your prayers! A lot of us were hit hard here in NJ.. But it was not as bad as expected.. We lost power for three days - but little damage - Looking forward to being on the beach in Negril on Monday!
