Re: Which boardies are on the East Coast and how are you doing?
I'm on Long Island. Our family was very lucky, we are in the center of the island and never lost electric, no damage to our home. The worst part for us has been the traffic lights being out and downed wires and trees making getting around dangerous. Schools have been closed for a week and we aren't sure when they will reopen. Getting gas is a major problem. The few stations that have power and gas have lines with people waiting for miles. If it doesn't ease up there will be a lot of people missing work. Lots of fights breaking out over gas for cars and generators. And that's for the lucky ones that have cars and generators. 90% of the island lost power.
People closer to the shores have lost everything. Homes flooded up to the second floors, cars destroyed by salt water. 100 homes in a shore town burned to the ground. And this was a category 1
