MBJ on a Friday....

Just curious - trying to decide on dates and flight times. How long are the immigration lines at MBJ on a Friday at around 1:30 pm? I now it depends on how many flights arrive at that time but I'm curious as to any experiences people have had.

We usually arrive on a Saturday at 12:30 pm and have waited for up to 2 hrs. I know it's part of the "overall experience" but if you had to wait in line with my "I am very very crabby when I have to wait in line for 2 hours" husband you would understand!

My other option is to pay a little bit more for a flight and arrive at MBJ on Friday around 11:00 am (I think).

Interesting...we arrived Saturday 10/20 and the lines were really short. Passed Immigration, had our bags and were out to the driver in less than 45 minutes. It was the fastest time we've ever experienced.

We arrived 01/21/11 at 1:05 PM, there were no lines.

It took longer to walk from the plane than it did to get through immigration.

I would rather pay the extra and not wait as long. I like the 10:45 arrival out of Charlotte on US Airways. Beats the rush that will soon hit.

Sometimes it is just the luck of the draw. And yes, I indeed do know how it is to have a significant other that tends to get quite crabby when things don't go as he wishes. LOL
Just hang in there, it will all be worth it once you are through customs and feel the sunshine on your face and smell that fresh Jamaican air. It will all be worth it! Good luck and have a wonderful time.

We will be arriving about 2:30pm....again, this will be a crap shoot. Many years it has been crowded as heck, then other times, a breeze. Right now, as my anticipation is even higher since our state got hit with a crazy snow storm thanks to Sandy, I will just be happy to be there safe and sound....ready to escape from reality for 3 weeks.

It all comes down to luck shouldnt be too bad at that time , I think around 2:00 there are a bunch of flights that come in.

Thanks everyone!! I figured it was luck of the draw. I will just have to go with my first thought - get as early of an arrival time as I can!! Now back to checking the expensive flights!

by far the fastest I got thru was when I reached last at 10:30AM on Jet Blue.........
only our plane had landed and it was just a matter of how fast you could walk thru immigrations, customs and out the door......
everyone basically just about waved us right thru.......

time before that I landed on Air Tran at like 1:15PM and it took the longest to get thru everything......what a nightmare

I would say anyone that lands in the morning is probably in the best shape.......or in the evening......
afternoons and the place get jammed big time........

and boy with that new terminal it's a haul with all that walking to get out of the airport........
