The avg VoIP app does not have the features like the Magicjack does, and it's a lot simpler for most people. Keep in mind I am not benefiting in any way from MagicJack, only alerting people to the new app. For example I use Skype a lot, but find MJ much more functional for regular calls.
If your VoIP app can give you a free US number for friends and family to call YOU back (in Jamaica) at local rates to them, then hey stick with it. I like the fact that my friends in Florida can reach me now at a Florida number on my tablet which doesn't have a sim card.
