Lady Jane - have you tried contacting Jean at Beach Club Condos? It may fit all of your needs - beach side (and the rooms are pretty close to the sand!), plenty of shade and full kitchens. I've always found Jean and her staff to be very helpful in finding us the right accommodations for our needs! We will be there in late Nov, early Decemnber ourselves! I 2nd calling Jean at Negril Beach Cub Condos, she responds usually within a day or so to email also. As you described what you were looking for it sounded an exact match to there in my mind. As far as where to walk, I myself have never encountered trouble on the beach at night, but I wouldn't take my mother on there that couldn't make a good escape if it would become necessary. The road has a lot more eyes watching it at night then the beach does.
