a few weeks ago we booked a trip to negril with apple vacations leaving June 24. it was a deal where you don't know what hotel u are staying until you get to the airport but they say it's a 5 star all inclusive. I'm thinking it is probably RIU Club. has anyone booked this kind of trip thru Apple? and if you have stayed at RIU Club before please tell me their food is decent.
If you booked the 5 star NEGRIL packagae, you will get RIU Club. If you booked 5 star JAMAICA, I have no idea where or what you will get. The RIU is fine. You have to get up early to make reservations for the ala carte, but the buffet is pretty good...

We stopped over there 1 night after our dinner at the other Riu.
The Riu Club seemed to have a decent atmosphere at night, and I actually thought it was better than the Riu Palace. Other than that I couldn't really mention anything else as we were never there at any other time.
the RIU CLub is great. i've been there like 10 times, wonderful hotel.
I always thought that Five Apple Negril Square Deal meant Riu Club, but evidently they get an overflow problem once in a while. Heard of one couple that was sent to RIU Palace.
I have done that deal cause I knew I would get club and I did. I love RIU club. For an large scale AI in the area that is what i would choose. Just be cautious it is really easy to get caught up in the convenience of staying onsite and their is no need you can explore all day around town easily by taxi to town.

thanks for all the input. I'm feeling better about the trip now. we usually stay at the Kuyaba but this was too cheap to pass up. i'll be there in 4 days ! feeling rather irie !!!
What kind of pricing are they offering?

3 nite/4 day from st. louis directly to mobay/ RIU Club for $460pp so everything is included including transfer to and from the airport. part of the reason it's that cheap is you don't pick the hotel. Apple vacations doesn't book that many 5 star resorts so i knew it was either RIU Club or Breezes. Glad to hear good things about the RIU Club. we stayed in a RIU in Punta Canta and the food was so bad we couldn't eat it. beautiful property though.
