To Stop or Not to Stop...That is the Question...

I plan on stopping at Bigga's in Green Island on my way to Negril. I have heard so many good things about him and his food.

What about you...do you go straight through to Negril to get to the hotel and do your thing or do you stop for some food/drink?

Do you always stop at the same place on the way ? If so where and why??

    Tony,

When people ask me how long is the drive from the airport in Mobay to Negril, I respond, "about an hour and a half, but if done correctly it takes 4 hours..." (grin)

Bigga's it is! Jerk pork, soup, stretch the legs. Usually make a stop before Green Island for beverages and to make room for them.

Usually it's just me and Miss G or just me alone with Henry from Seastasr. Sometimes we stop some times not but unless he has another trip we kinda' stop here and there.

I'm not in any great hurry any more.....

we usually always stop at Bigga's for some food and then stop in Green Island to buy our beer, rum and rum cream as it is so much cheaper than in Negril.

I agree with MsB...it is the journey that counts.

Good answer! And that even includes a stop off at Megamart.

I'm usually too anxious to get home...but I'm also usually very hungry after 10 hours of travel. If we stop, we stop at a little restaurant right outside of Hopewell then plow on through.

I have heard great things about him but we usually arrive on sunday and he is closed..Jerky's does the trick most years but last year we went over to Mega Mart to stock up and just hit KFC right next door. Yes, KFC...chicken and chips and a box drink..It is not the same as the KFC in the states....or does everything taste better in Jamaica??.WE tried the Mega Mart two years in a row and will not do that any more..For all we saved in the store we spent over in the liquor store. Stuff in the store is cheaper but the liquor was almost the same as my store at home for Rum and Vodka..
I am usually too hungry to make it to Green Island so even if he was open we have eaten by then...If you can wait til then by all means give him a try. I have never read a bad review of his food...

i generally stop just for a snack to carry and eat on the road.... after traveling i'm usually tired and sweaty and i don't want to stop to sit down & eat until i can get in the water to soak my head & wash off the dust. THEN i can sit and eat a nice leisurely meal in bathsuit and bare feet, once i'm nicely cooled down and refreshed
