True, true! I was so hoping that the concert series would continue...especially at Negril Escape. That was one of my very favorite venues in Negril for concerts! Maybe if enough of us express our feelings, they might start them back up. It is always special to have open air concerts by the water....whether it is the beach or the cliffs. I prefer the cliffs myself, partly due to the fact that I feel most comfortable there. Also, good business for the cliffs too!! At Negril Escape, to me it was perfection. Nice resort, bar, with enough room for vendors and to walk about. The sound of the sea and beauty of nature added such a special touch. Also, I always felt quite comfortable there. If traveling back to your resort after the concert, the guys near the gate would always advise you on a safe ride, etc... Ya felt like part of the family, so to say! Great memories there fi sure!!!

Saw Tarrus Riley at Negril Escape a couple years ago and Toots at the Jungle last year. Both were great venues....really gonna miss not seeing a show this year. I hope they change their mind and book some acts for February when we are there.
Tarrus Riley and Etana were 2 of my very favorites at Negril Escape. I would give anything to see Toots and the Maytals in Jamaica. You are one lucky person! I have seen Third World at the Jungle and enjoyed it..but I still prefer Negril Escape as a venue. At this point, I would go anywhere in Negril to see some great reggae. Hopefully, this holiday season, there will be some good acts performing. Only 10 days to go...so obviously, I am beyond ready!!!

Have to say the best reggae act I've seen so far...was at Montreal Reggaefest this past summer. Saw Romain Virgo, Tarrus Riley and Jimmy Cliff. All were great performers but Jimmy Cliff stole the show! Would love to see him again
Have a great trip Yetta...72 more days for us![]()
Damn Damn Damn. I was really looking foward to these concerts again. We saw John Holt & Freddie McGregor at Negril Escape in February 2011. Both were great and the venue was off the charts. Last year caught Beres Hammond and then none other than Toots and the Maytals at the Jungle. I'll never forget "54 46 was my number" as he closed out the encore. The sax player was unforgettable.
Hopefully the door is now open for places like Bourbon Beach to bring in a few great roots reggae artists. That would be a great location (right beside the ocean).
Dana1, you must've been at the same one as us back in Dec 2010 - Taurus Riley was awesome and what a great venue! It was incredible! I agree - Hey, Rob! Got some people listening to us old poopie-heads on the board? Bring back the One Love Concert Series! The tourists and regulars LOVE it! We will all behave (right, guys?) and be polite and everything. Please, Please, Pretty Please!
M&G....did you go to Reggaefest in Montreal? This past summer was our first time there and we loved it so much that it might become an annual tradition![]()
Check the Bourbon Beach facebook page for upcoming shows, like Bunny Wailor on dec. 30th.
Trip #59 most of February
