Cool I needed to get a New cell phone in Negril. :-( Old one is dead.

I always leave my phone with my Jamaican family when I leave de island.

This trip Mi mom in law says " I forgot to top it off, so i bought a new SIM card thingy for you.

Ok, that's cool, I dont really care if I have a new number or not.

But, something was wrong. My old phone would not take a charge.

Well, I bought this phone about 10 years ago. Time for a new one.

So, I took the new SIM card back to my hotel, tried to charge it, but no luck.

I called Nick and he came over to my room.

Mon, it is not even trying to charge, lets go downtown.

We hopped in the Nick mobile and soon we were outside of the Digicel place by the Round-a-bout.

This place reminds me of cell phone stores here in the states.

Folks waiting for service connections, problems and bill payments.

There was no "formal " line, but I nosed up to the counter and waited.

I saw this one Jamaican guy come in and head straight for the lady behind the counter.

There was just enough room for one person to squeeze up to the counter, so real quick i stepped in the spot infront of him.

"He's not getting service before me, the ---- with that" I said to myself.

Soon the lady said "Next" or something and I started talking.

My old phone is soooo old that the sales ladies almost started to laugh when they saw it.

I said, maybe its the battery, maybe its this or that?? blah, blah, blah.

She took the old phone examined it and said "time for a new phone"

Well, I coughed up $4K J and voila, I had a new phone and charger.

She put in the SIM card and it was running nice.

Markospoon is back in town and all systems go BABY!!!!!!!

LOL my digicel is so old, probably 10 years or so too
When my Jamaican friends see it, they always laugh at it

Ty at Catcha told me last trip that if I left it on the bar I could be sure no one would ever steal it so I needn't worry HAHAHA
But hey, I say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it
And a bonus it has its own built in security (its so old no one wants it)
    lol
