Anyone been to the Lionfish/Bonfire function at the Westender?

I've seen the flyer but was hoping someone who had been the the Westender for their Bonfire/Lionfish party could provide more info on it.

    THANKS!!!

When do they do the bonfire? We will be there on 3 of our 10 days in Negril

I was at Westender last March & they had the bonfire but no Lionfish then. I'll be back this January & am looking forward to it. If you've never been out that far, Westender is a very friendly & laid back place & they have an absolutely amazing view of the sunset Enjoy

I'm looking more for info on the variety of foods offered and the approximate costs involved.

Twister - I would just email them directly to confirm the event time and dates, etc. the staff is very helpful and welcoming (shout out to Kemar and Germaine!!!!) westenderinn@yahoo.com

I have gone a few times but its been a while (year or so). It was AWESOME. Nothing like it - bonfire by the sea and cliffs - back then there was fish/chicken, rice/peas and vegs plate and I think it was $10 or $12 if I remember right. Since then the lionfish is now featured which is soooooo delicious. Highly recommend this - so relaxed and beautiful there. I would go for sunset if you can but the bonfire was well after dark. Enjoy your reach!

We just stayed at the Westender for four amazing nights (Dec 6-10) and they had a buffet style bonfire that Sunday. It was $20/person and included callaloo rice, rice and peas, crab legs in a delicious sauce, jerk chicken, escovitch lionfish, jerk pork and veggies, seafood pasta and bread pudding with a caramel/rum cream kind of sauce. It was delicous food, (although the crab legs were a bit hard to eat!) a beautiful setting and just a really pleasant way to spend an evening. And Sweetness is correct - the staff there is truly wonderful - loved Kemar, Sheldon, Germaine, Collin, Koreen -Trevine and Renee at the front desk - really EVERYONE was helpful, responsive, super nice - they really make you feel as if they are happy you are there and want you to come back! If you've not been out there, it is worth a trip for sure!

I e-mailed Westender and got a prompt response from Keith saying that they were having Lion Fish and a pig roast for their bonfire this Sunday. He also mentioned "fantastic food for your dining pleasure". $20 US. "Come for the sunset".
