Been to Cuba, the DR, Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, the Mayan Riviera and of course Jamaica. We still go to Akumal to snorkel with the turtles and to see friends we've made, but my heart belongs to Jamaica. There really is something special about the placeI can only relax in Jamaica, nowhere else does that for me...
After 12 trips or so to Negril it is hard not to go back each year.We have been on cruises to some really awesome places and stayed in Punta Cana and Cancun but it's just not the same.We talked about another Dominican trip with the kids and their wives and some friends but when everyone goes to bed at 10opm we get a little bored and there is nothing to do like there is in Negril.We love the nightlife,the awesome local people and just the super vibes that Negril can supply us, we will be back with the whole gang next year,just have to pick the right resort to keep everyone as happy as they can be!!!
We love Mexico- Playa Del Carmen, Isla Mujeres, Akumal, Tulum. Even got married in Playa in 2005. It used to be our definite spot every year. Went to Negril with friends pre-child in 2006. It captured a piece of our hearts just like Mexico. Now Mexico has become our every so often vacation and Negril is our every January trip. This will be our daughters 4th time there in January. Love Negril and Idle Awhile.
Jamaica owns my heart, however, I have been itching to do a trip to Akumal. The snorkling and vibe there looks very nice.

Have been going to Negril since 82. Went to Antigua once and it was nice but not Negril. Was looking at Playa del Carmen after reading a Negril trip report on a Playa website. Hey heater those must be your posts on the Rissasks trip report. Welcome to Negril. Can't wait until Feb. for my next trip.

I have been hitting the rock since " 97".... And I have stayed all over the island....
My next visit is march 2013 for my 50th....last time on the island Feb / 2010
And I will tell you this,,,,,not what i wanted to do for my 50th.... Wanted to spend 10 days
cruising the BVI,,,bar hopping,,, on a 50 foot sail.... Why you may ask,,,,,,something different,,,someplace new!!!!!!!!!
It was very important to me , to spend my time with my kids.... for my 50th....College schedules,,,Spring break,,, work,,, and distance
made it some what difficult...... too get everybody on the same page.........
Been to Punta, Cancun,, Riveria Maya, several times and numerous destinations in the states....
Seasoned travellor...... My kids included......
So, the resolve was this,,,,,, I am hitting the rock for my 50th for 10 days,,,,,Westend style
Blue Cave, Westender Inn and Xtabi,,,,and I am good with it....
Cruising the BVI in the summer with my daughter......... Her gift to me
Storming the beaches in Normandy France with my son.... His gift to me
Oh,,,, Dads still paying
Dad does not mind
Akumal Beach Resort is nice. You can snorkel with turtles there all day long.
We've all been there, there is no place as amazing as Negril. Have a great time on the rock G123
