all 14 parishes in one day?!

Any of ya'll circumnavigated di rock in one day? Considering doing it on the next reach to Negril, with stops at Hellshire Beach, Blue Mountain for some coffee, and St Ann's Bay to check out the fire wata. Is this doable? Any guide that ya'll would recommend?

I did it once in 1972. Not by choice. It was a grueling trip.

What is the point? It would be nothing more than an ardous, toilsome, backbreaking day.

It is a little crazy...would love to see all of the island and be done with it in a day. Always up for a challenge....

Leebabysimms, If you give your circumnavigation in a day a try, I would like to know what you learn about Jamaica (and yourself) on a trip like that. One thing for certain, you won't run into many others that have done the same thing. Good luck.

This would be difficult I think given the road conditions and rough terrain. To "see" the island with brief stops I think even a week would be hard to pull off. Hellshire Beach is a great choice for a stop though and Blue Mountains a must do - there are several different message boards for each area of the island here on Negril.com and you could get great recommendations for sights and accomodations in each area. All parrishs seems impossible in one day as you would have to zig zag. I have not been to all parts of the island but just making it to South Coast was a big deal - as was a trip to Kingston from St Ann thru the mountains.......or what I thought were mountains until I saw the glorious Blue Mountain range in the distance at Kingston WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck on your journey, travel safe with a well know tour guide and most of all I hope you will share your trip with us. Bless Up

i've tripped around a lot around the island but never in one day . . . you'd have to have super powers to complete your task . . . driving is lovely but even though there is a new road almost all around the island with the exception of old road between port antonio and kingston, it's still not doable . . . you only have 12 hours of daylight . . . even though miles wise, it seems close, it's just not doable . . . blue mountain is a one day trip in itself . . . let us know how you did!!

Save yourself the frustration and split your trip; the goal is to have a good, memorable experience; not one that a blur. You might consider doing one section only. What is the point in visiting a place and not stopping to do a few things, seeing a few sights, etc. For example, one year we did the Port Maria, Port Antonio & Blue Mountain trip. That alone took us at least 12 hrs. It included visiting Firefly, visiting the Blue Lagoon, Rafting the Rio Grande River, and driving up the Blue Mountain to Mavis Bank.
