Trip Report Dec 1st - 15th - Relaxing and Chillin !

Friday

Tawnee and I did the Pub Crawl together. The bus was filled but no one had to stand - we all got seats. Great time as usual was had by all and we brought the gang back just in time so they could enjoy a happy hour drink at our most favourite establishment. It’s really interesting to watch the reactions for some of the folks who we pick up at the all inclusive. It is an eye opener for them and they realize there is a whole other part of Negril to enjoy once you leave the compound of the AI.

Saturday

Honey bun gets invited to go deep sea fishing on Stanley’s boat. He had a great time and I’m sure it was the highlight of his trip. They caught some small tuna and some flap jacks but the 10 foot bull shark gave them a run for their money. They managed to get it close to the boat so they could see what kept them hauling on that rod for 90 minutes and then let it go. But like all fisherman - no pictures to prove the tale
Enjoyed another Seastar buffet and show but we toddled off to beddie-by quite early that night.

Sunday

Football afternoon at Seastar! Another day around the pool.

Monday

Another beach day - there were only 2 on this 2 week trip - I’m quite satisfied with the pool and atmosphere at Seastar. Honey bun likes to stay out of the sun and most often enjoys his hammock on the Seastar room balcony. Before going to the beach the staff had cooked up a batch of yummy oatmeal - it’s like a cream of wheat with all kinds of blended fruit and spices - if you get the opportunity - it is a must have.

While at the beach there were a couple of Sting-Rays floating around - this lady was nto aware at the time but when she caught on she was out of that water like a bat out of hell

Tuesday -

Just another wasted day by the pool. Also learned about the 40 legs that are in around the area. Seems they can pack quite a wallop if they happen to get their stinger in you. Seastar keeps on hand a bottle of their anti venom which consists of - yep a bottle of many dead 40 legs - seems the trick is to get them in the jar when not yet quite dead so they can spill their venom - which then becomes anti venom - probably the most disliked insect on the island.

Wednesday

Took a cab down to Hi-Lo to do our shopping for returning home. Bought coffee - rum cream and a Tortuga cake. When we got back we walked down to LTU for lunch. We basically had the place to ourselves. Some local lads came through and jumped off the ledge into the sea. Seems they are blocked from where they usually get access to Rick’s so this is their new way of getting over to there. We then went back to Seastar in time for Happy Hour!

Thursday - Another chill day by pool

Friday

Enjoyed the Seastar amenities until 1:30 then all the girls went to Canoe for a surprise baby shower for Francine. For those that know Chris and Francine, the arrival of their soon to come baby girl has been long anticipated event for them. Francine must have cried for at least 5 full minutes, she was so happy with the gathering of all her friends. We also got to enjoy the saxophone tunes by Celia Baron .
Back to Seastar we went in time for one or two happy hour drinks. The rum punches finally got to me and by 9:00 I staggered off to room. But first I paid my bill and then Akima made sure my alarm was set on my phone and that Rambo would give us a knock on the door by 6:00 AM. We were getting picked up at 8:00 and I wasn’t packing until I got up in the morning - since I was in no shape to do it that nightJ saved my big party for the last night - not the best idea!

Saturday

Alarm went off and then Rambo knocking on the door…… oh my head doesn’t feel so good. I’m heading home to detoxify! John and Anita were right on time. I was pretty quiet on the ride back to MoBay - drinking my water. We got to the check-in and my bag is 6 lbs over weight - now we have to juggle things - pack up the knapsacks. Maybe buying rum cream and coffee and packing in suitcase was not a good idea. After that little bit of stress - honey bun gets a little upset with the weight thing, we got through security and went to our gate. Wow - they got quite a duty free shop now in that area - takes up the complete width of the floor. No sooner sit down and the pre boarding call starts. We got into Montreal at 4:00pm and the immigration was loaded with folks. Luckily we had our Nexus passes with us and bing a bam a boom, we were through - bags came out 3 minutes later and out the door we went.

Back to reality - Back to work - Back to Snow - freezing rain - sleet - rain - Christmas - baking - entertaining, have not seen the sun since we left MoBay - but then ………. 7 more weeks back to Seastar !

We made it the next day! Took about a 4-5 hour drive around, and it was a really good time Really jealous looking at that that countdown but happy for you guys!

A couple of times while reading I totally forgot about being in the cold and felt as if I were at Seastar.

Thank you Iriealways for sharing your experiences and for posting all these beautiful pictures. I'm so glad you guys had a wonderful time in Negril! Those beach pictures are killing me, the water looks so inviting! And the food too! Nice to see some familiar faces as well! So many happy faces and bright smiles!
(that jar of creepy critters gave me the chills though! OMG! What are those? Centipedes? Scorpions? AAAGH!)
