    Negril turkey day trip

I don’t normally do trip reports., but I’m hoping this will pacify Very Very Happy Traveler. Don’t want him PISSED OFF!!!!!! I know it is not on-site, but it’s the best I can do. By the way it has been a while for you, hasn’t it???
My wife and I recently returned from a 10 day trip to Negril. I think this was our 13th time we have gone.
We usually go for 18-21 days, so this was a short trip for us.
We have always in the past gone in either March or April. The trip was booked kind of spur of the moment, compared to our usual 4-5 months ahead. Our first 5-6times we used to stay somewhere different each time and always on the beach. The last 6 years I told my wife that we have to split the time – half beach and the last half the cliffs (@ same 2 resorts). I told her this because at home I’m not much of a walker (own business - always working), but I can’t just sit in a LOUNGER so I’m always walking somewhere. There is always a day or two where I have to protect (towel, shade, or worst yet tennis shoes) the tops of my feet due to the sun and walking the water’s edge. My thinking was that if I was on the West End I wouldn’t walk as much due to the “ unsafe road conditions” , no sidewalks, (said so here on the board) and I couldn’t walk the water’s edge . YA RIGHT THERE ARE LOUNGERS ON THE CLIFFS TOO !! I walk just as much there as I do on the beach if not more but at least I don’t burn the feet. Last trip I walked to Westender, Red Dragon and from there to Beachcombers all in one day. I did take a taxi back to Catcha though! I do know what it is like for PGW walking, but I don’t ALWAYS have a Red Stripe in my hand! ha ha! I drink mine in the little bars, so I can concentrate on the road & traffic.

Everyone has their favorite resorts based on location, accommodations, or security or STAFF. Our favorites are Rondel & Catcha. STAFF!! STAFF!! We arrived at Mobay and were out of the terminal and had a Red Stripe in our hands with in 20 minutes. Fastest time yet. Clive himself drove us to Negril (He has the last 4 years for some reason). Always nice to see him and hear the latest regarding Lucea and Negril.

Arrived at Rondel about 3:00 pm checked in and got to our room. The first thing I noticed from the room (2nd story beachfront) was the sound of the sea. It was like the constant sound of the surf in places I’ve been where there are always waves. Do not usually see that in March or April.

Sorry about the quality of the videos

The following day was Thursday – Thanksgiving. We went to Canoe to see Rob & Lisa and the webcast. We were planning on having turkey dinner at Seastar or maybe Treehouse but after consuming a few red stripes and rum punch we caught a taxi back to Rondel and had a turkey dinner there.

The dinner was very good. Had a few with Delroy at the bar and then it was time for the room.

On Friday I told my wife lets go for a walk up the beach to go see and visit with Linton (Aqua) at Sandy Haven. As we were leaving Rondel I told my wife I was going to stop at Tony’s Hut for an ice cold beer from the freezer. When we got as far as the Boat Bar where the water is up to the steps, there were people waiting to walk between the high waves. One of these people was Pool Guy Windsor. It was the day that he and Flipadelphia26 and his girlfriend Jackie,(I think ?? -it ended up being a long day) & Rock Robster had their trail of bottle caps. We and they had a couple of cold beers there at Tony’s and we left and stopped at Sunbeach and Sea Splash. When leaving both places we ran into the bottle cap crew.
I don’t think we even got to see Linton that day.

When we were talking to Rob he told us about the pirates dinner at Bourbon Beach, and how good it was.
We decided to walk at sunset down the beach and we ended up at Bourbon Beach. We had a couple beers at the bar while waiting for them to set up a long table for the people to sit at. So when getting ready to sit down, for the 4th time today, was PGW, Flip, and Jackie. It indeed was a feast, skewers of pork and chicken, all you can drink rum punch, well worth it.
It was a pleasure meeting you all, and PGW I seen him everywhere. Hey that’s right you owe me a red stripe from Canoe. I hope I get to see you someday to collect that. About 11:00 pm we caught a taxi back to the room.

Didn’t do much Saturday. You know HANGOVER
    Sat in a LOUNGER!

Decided I needed some “hair of the dog” (beer) so we decided to go see Linton at Sandy Haven.

Me and loungers just go together like toast with jam! Book - sun and water that's about all I require during the day.

We headed to Seastar for dinner and the show. It was the first time we had been there in person since they remodeled. They did a very nice job. There was a large crowd there and our table was right alongside the dance floor. Great seats. The food was also very good. Great show.

And my favorite - the drummers and dancers.

It was here we met Scott & Janet from the board. We got to see a lot more of them because we moved to Catcha on Monday, and they were staying there. It is nice to put a face with a name. Very nice meeting and seeing you all about.

On Monday we moved up to the cliffs - Catcha - love this place.
The day we arrived was Mauvette's birthday. We had brought a card with us and gave it to her. She had contacted us prior to leaving and wanted to know if we wanted to switch rooms to Sagi, due to someone cancelled their reservations. She ran out from her desk and out the door to hug us both up. She is so sweet. I was a little disappointed to not see Ty or Ordeia (sp), but the rest of the crew was.
Here is some pictures from around Catcha.
