    Cliffs then beach

We are extending our time on the island in 2013 to probably 12 days from our typical 7. We are already booked at tensing pen for the first portion of the trip (7 days in red birch cottage), but I want to extend our vacation.

Tensing is out of the question, as they have nothing with ac that I want for the last days, and if I am going to have to move, I figure I will do as I have seen some on the board do and just move hotels. Don't get me wrong, tensing is fantastic, but I want the second half to be on the sand.

I've done the AI route, been to couples 10 times, sandals twice, not really what I want now that we have discovered how much we like being on our own for vacation.

We are looking on line at a place called nirvana on the beach... Seems really low key and low tech (I mean that in a good way, as in kind of an old school place). It took digging for me to find that though. Would anyone have any other beach suggestions? I really just want a beach location and a room that definitely has ac for the last half of our trip. My wife would like a kitchen, but I am not all that fussy about kitchen or lack of.

Huss, You don't say when you are going but you would be very lucky to get beachside at Nirvana, the cottages are great. Close by you will find Coco La palm which has AC, a bar fridge and sink. The downstairs units have a little covered porch for rain days or shade.Busy during peak. Treehouse has big covered Varandas on their upstairs units and hanging rope chairs. The rooms have high ceilings with fans and AC,old school but nice enough.good luck

Sorry. We are already booked for nov 11-18 at tensing. We want to add that mon-fri that follows to our trip. We have never gone this long before, but when I was speaking with another boardie this year who stays at tensing, he got me to thinking about extending the time frame as he told me about how much longer they were staying than we did.

We are pretty much set on either idle or nirvana at this point. I am leaning more towards idle after seeing their website though. Some really great deals on a lot of places. We go just prior to peak season, as it coincides with our anniversary. Watching flight prices though, room savings will probably get eaten up by the difference there.

This is our second time at Beachcomber. It's nice with some typical Ja. issues. It's on a nice spot for beach travel. We stayed at Travellors Beach Resort 4 times. economical and clean--- near beginning of beach on town side .Hussy I believe you told me about Mobay arrival service. since there was 8 of us we didnt pay the 65 a head. took 1and one half hours to get clear and that sucked.

We're at Nirvana right now, staying in the Owner's Villa. That, and the beachfront suites here are much more directly right on the beach than anything at Idle Awhile. The Owner's Vills is nothing fancy, but it's tough to beat the covered deck right on the beach. The cabins are not air conditioned. Idle Awhile is nice, but not as private. We did the arrival service by the way, and did cut right to the front of the huge line last Saturday.
