Yellow Bird - One of the owners from Nebraska is taking over the day to day

The Following was post was put on their FB page from YB account
"Frank, good luck in running Yellow Bird. I wish you much success. It is sad you weren't able to thanks Richard and Chantal for all their years of service."
This of course lead to a bunch of questions by people on FB, which in turn lead to this response

"One of our owners, Frank Shoemaker is taking over the management of the property in order to do more marketing. The number of guests had been declining and we are hoping for a turn around."
This lead to one more follow up from YB
"Frank plans to be an onsite manager. He has some new and innovative marketing plans"
I believe I may have met this Frank before as he may have been staying there while I was. There was a huge difference between the first few days when we were the only people there, vs the Owner's family being there.

No more Rasta Mikey - Lights were fixed - TV was returned to bar - The Security was Uniformed.

    Interesting.

Flip, you posted, "no more Rasta Mikey." Is this the Mike with the glass bottom boat? If so, do you know what happened?

Same guy. I don't know for sure. Either he went on vacation, or he was shooed away by the owner. I didn't really investigate. All I know is.. The second half of my trip. I maybe saw him one time. No boat..

That was from him basically greeting me at my door at YB every morning asking if I wanted a ride on the boat etc.

I am going to be at the YB for a cocktail or 3 tomorrow afternoon. I will post an update when I can.

For a long time, the beach bar at Yellowbird was among the most popular on the beach, and I think some of the past boardie parties have been there, too. It's a well known name, a good reputation. This property has a good chance of being resurrected. ....

First stayed at the Yellow Bird in the mid '70's, started going back to Jamaica about 15 years ago, stayed in different places till I started going back to the Yellow Bird about 5 years ago, 3 stays since then and will be returning in March. I met an owner about (3) years ago, seemed like a nice guy, maybe Frank. It is an excellent location and I have enjoyed it. Will be interesting to see what goes on, will be looking forward to your posts.
