Does anyone know if the airlines/TSA will allow a trekking pole on board? I usually travel with a cane but have recently started using a trekking pole, they work in the airport and the sand. It's collapsible to around 22".

I brought a "staff" down from home, and upon leaving, I did not have proof of US purchase and was not allowed on board with it..my gift I guess?...this has been 5-6 yrs back...
