I'm thinking about booking a flight out of ORD to MBJ that has a layover in MIA. The flight arrives in MIA around 11:30 pm and our flight to MBJ would go out the next morning at something like 10:00 am. We would stay at the airport hotel that night.
My main question is - what happens to our checked luggage between the night flight into MIA and the morning flight from MIA to MBJ?? Kinda worries me if we won't see it again (hopefully!) til we reach MBJ....Any input is greatly appreciated!!!

you will pick-up you luggage in Miami and recheck for flight into MJB
Why not just take the non stop ohare mo bay the first day extra day on the rock instead of Miami.
We would be flying out on July 3rd - no non-stops from ORD (that I've found). This is already adding days on to our original reservation of July 6-14. We like the early arrival time of 10:40 am on the 4th.

Sorry during winter they have non stop once a day. Look like summer just on the weekend.
