Just read about the vistor getting chopped up? Do I need to cancel my trip?

Does this kind of crime happen often? I could see my brother getting mixed up with the wrong dudes.

You'll be fine....just don't go with strangers... if you are at an all inclusive, you don't even have to leave your resort, but that's not fun. Just use your street smarts...you can go party at many of the hotels and have your driver pick you up....remember to either work with one driver, or make sure you ride with a red plate....I can understand your concern....I got a little nervous before going but once I got there, it was just like any tourist destination. I wouldn't be writting this if I thought it was an extremely dangerous place....
