There have been some water supply issues throughout Jamaica for quite some time now. Negril is not exempt from this. In many places around the world, not only Jamaica, the fresh water supply has quickly become strained to the limits and beyond. Maybe the Negril Tourism and Business Community can increase their efforts to educate the average tourist on just how precious fresh water is in Jamaica and around the world. (A billboard campaign, information left for guests in their rooms). Wouldn't it be great if people could go home from their Jamaican vacation having raised their awareness of this serious issue. Who will join me in resolving to treat water as the precious commodity it is, at home everyday, and even in the expensive, or not so expensive vacation accommodation? It's the right thing to do.
Personally, a guest in Jamaica having to go a day without a shower would be a small price to pay, if it raises people's consiousness of this serious issue we all are facing.
