Bars/Nightlife near Couples Negril

As the title says I'm interested to find out what is close to CN, possibly walking distance? I have a feeling we'll be looking for somewhere that parties after 10pm. lol Also looking for jerk chicken barrel guy close by.

This will be our first to Jamaica, leaving in 26 days! This trip is all my wife and I have been talking about for weeks now. We've been spending hours on the forums reading everything. After reading the forums here the only disappointment we have now is that we are going AI, so much that we've already mentioned a return trip before the first trip even happens.

I've been so addicted to this forum that I've read GerryG's whole Trail of Ashes, Manada81's, Clarity's and a few other trip reports all in the past 4 days. I started on Clarity's trip #2 and then realized I have 2 more after that to go! If any of the people mentioned read this post THANK YOU for such great and exciting reports.

Most of your places with night life after 10 are going to be a pretty good hike from there.
Roots bamboo, Burbon beach, Alfreds, or Jungle night club. Its really only a couple dollars to take a cab. Might be a better option. Enjoy

Stayed at Couples Negril back in the late 1990's. Very nice place.

Couples Negril is on Bloody Bay, which is around the point from Long Bay. I suggest you read on this board about Route Taxis with Red Plates.

Couples Negril tends to wind down after the dinner hour.

I would suggest you go to www.RealNegril.com and check out the webcast schedule. You can watch the live web cast and join in the live chat. This will give you an opportunity to find out where the hot spots are after the sun goes down.

takinitslow, thanks for the suggestions. I've seen some video from The Jungle and I think that place is a little to wild for our first time in Jamaica. I'll checkout the other suggestions.

Bigzb....beware of Couples Negril..the sand gravity is INTENSE there...as you may be tempted to experience more of Negril, the only way we found it possible to do so was to stop staying there. Your every wish seems to be granted right there on sight, so much so that, you feel more like you are missing out on things by leaving the resort than staying put. We stepped down from it last year to Grand Pineapple Beach and although we saw the difference in price/dining/bar options, we still got a great room, a great staff/hotel, and found ourselves in the most perfect spot on Seven Mile Beach to experience all that Negril had to offer, and took the opportunity to immerse ourselves in it. We've done CN 4X, but may never go back just because of all the Jamaica we got to experience outside the wall. check this out....(NautiBoy..got CN reviews, too)

lisapat, thanks for the info on Grand Pineapple, their resort pictures look nice. I believe they were closed when we booked so we didn't consider them.

Try the office of nature for a little local flavor and cosmos for good food.

I highly suggest doing the One Love Bus Bar Crawl. It's during the day but a great way to get out and see a little bit.

Office of nature is fun... Had some fantastic lobster there... In fact, the first lobster I ever ate was from there. We are now cliff people now, but have done couples negril on 8 trips. Walkable areas off of the resort are limited. You will be Ble to get a taxi easily, but will not find much to do outside of the resort, aside from the ubiquitous Saturday night party that seems to go on every Saturday night at the gas station across from the resort... CN is not a real "party" place. It's really laid back... The sand gravity definitely takes hold at that resort.

Hey Bigzb I agree with lovemylabs you should do the one love pub crawl. Its a easy free way to see alot of places. Just a nice tip for Lenbert is always appreciated. It runs on wed and fri. 874 6631
