Old 60 Minutes Segment on Reggae and Bob Marley
I came across this old 60 Minutes segment the other day and my jaw just about dropped while viewing it...
The level of ignorance on display by this "journalist" is simply astounding. I guess this proves that we, as a society, HAVE made some progress over the past 30 years in terms of understanding....still a ways to go, though.

Re: Old 60 Minutes Segment on Reggae and Bob Marley
I think this is the interview, that started our whole addiction to Jamaica. My husband and his hippy friends saw this interview, and decided that they had to go see and experience this. They went for a week, and stayed for a month, in 1976. I'm not sure the date of this interview, but it looks to be around that time frame. I met my husband in 1977, and he told me all about it, and promised to someday take me there. We got together, got married, had children, then in 2001, he brought me there, finally. It was everything he described and more. We've gone every year, sometimes twice a year, since then. The rest is history.

1979 Australian version of 60 Minutes. George Negus was the reporter.

I agree Mort, pretty basic knowledge that he does not have.

Saying Bob was born in Trenchtown is as funny as the time Bridget, who for a very short time to was on the
travel channel, asked Chris Blackwell if he knew Bob Marley.

There is more smoke in that report than a 5 alarm fire...lol

Love how the reporter had his nose right in the smoke. Probally the reason for all the mistakes in the report.
