All right, you Smarty McSmarts, I know it's technically 15 days by the calendar, but the day is over and thus the pre-tripping begins in earnest. I recently read that the pre-trip anticipation can be as enjoyable as the actual trip, and I am sure that's true for me. Starting right after Christmas with the diet and renewed commitment (ha!) to the gym, followed by carb restriction to lost those 10 lbs that always, always come back (dangit). Then comes tanning at the gym- I do have a rule, however, that I cannot tan at the gym unless I also work out. I love lying there pretending that the heat of the bulbs is the Caribbean sun and that the breeze is coming off the ocean, not the fan pointed at me. But, I digress.
As of yesterday, transport is arranged, which was the last remaining item (thanks for the referral to Michael's On Time Taxi). Michael was our driver on our return to MoBay last year, and he was truly the nicest, most considerate driver we've ever had. I'm really looking forward to riding with him again.
Our goal this year is to not leak out on any of the BDay festivities, particularly those as MXIII. Each year, we have the grand expectations, but the sun and the wind and the alcohol all conspire against us, leaving us whipped and exhausted by 10. I still regret not going to see Beanie Man (Beenie?) at the Jungle last year.
We are staying at Rondel Village again this year, are booked for the bar crawl on the 6th and will be mourning the fact that our beloved Pack will not (sob) be in the Super Bowl, again. Regardless, it's still fun to watch with the rest of the folks from the Upper Midwest, so I look forward to seeing/meeting you this year.
From the myriad Roll Call threads, I know there's at least a couple of other boardies staying at Rondel the same time we are. I'd love to meet more of you in person- hopefully the stars will align. There's always Monday night Karaoke at Sea Wind, you will find me there....
Love, Sadiekat
