It can happen to anybody anytime. Best practice is to take care of your stuff. Keep common sense in play at all times and don't make it easy for someone to thief you. We've been vacationing in Negril for the past 22 years and have been fortunate not to have had any problems. Unfortunately we've heard of too many visitors that have gotten ripped off and all too often were careless with their belongings. Take measures to protect your stuff and you will be fine.
