When we reached in October, 2012, Mi Lady asked Donavan, the carver at the CocoLaPalm if he could make her a Santa (she collects Santas). He said that he had not made one but would "try" to make one for her. We gave him a thousand J note "to buy the wood".
When we returned in December, 2012, he said that another person had asked him to make a Santa for her, but she was leaving in a day or 2. So, he sold Mi Lady's Santa to her.
While we were there over the holidays, however, he made another one, saying that the first one was difficult; the second, a likkle easier. Mi Lady was just soooo happy! I think the pictures speak volumes. It weighs a likkle over 5 pounds, stands about 15 inches high, and is really cool!!
If you want some good carvings and/or have a special something that you want made, just stop by the CocoLaPalm. His carving stand is up from the beach in the shade of the sea grapes and almond trees on the resort between the main restaurant and the beach bar. He is a good guy and will make you anything.
His name is Donavan Cameron and he is at the Coco most days. Tell him Robert and Helen sent you!
