Thanx for the info...

And another beneficial Jamaican fruit is SWEET SOP. Sweet sop is supposed to be really good for the nervous system in adults; and aids healthy brain development in children. I like to eat the fresh fruit whole, and ogle-mouth the seeds. I wish I could find it in my local grocery stores.
Some "natural" products like Yew are already used in chemotherapy to treat cancer.
Just because a product is "natural" does not always mean it is safe (i.e. Cocaine comes from a coca plant).
The Graviola plant can kill nerve cells in the brain and other parts of the body. It may cause movement disorders similar to Parkinson’s disease.
There are pros and cons to many treatments - natural or not - it's up to each individual to do their research and decide for themself. Just don't create false hope for those battling cancer.
Marijuana is good too!
Cancer surgery three months ago, Thank you Mass. General Hospital. Steve Jobs would have a problem with this BS. Medical Marijuana is better than the Morphine they gave me to kill the spasm pain. Going back to Negril for two weeks to celebrate being alive. You do not go with BS when your life is on the line!!
Soursop in Negril, march.
Trip #59 most of February
I live in a town (Accompong Town) that is widely known for using herbal medicines to "cure" a lot of maladies and they can point to the fact that most residents live into their 90's and above as proof. However, it is also true that when someone dies of cancer etc., it gets conveniently removed from the narrative.
Herbals and natural foods are beneficial to one's health and that is not a disputed fact. What is disputed is the use of the word "cure" as taking substances to keep one from getting something is a long way from having a disease like cancer and then taking herbals and natural foods as a medicine to rid the body of them.
Perhaps it is because these substances are not regulated and scientifically tested in a blind study of sufficient samplings to make a definitive statement while rather relying on carefully worded statements like; "thought to prevent one from...." or "Is known to..." to give false hope to desperate suffers.
Medical science knows that environmental factors and heredity have the most to do with developing cancer in the first place. Jamaicans are disproportionately blessed in both of these categories and thus develop cancers etc. at a lower rate than say Americans, Canadians, etc..
Yes, I feel that Noni, Sour Sop, merengue, etc. are a good way to consume substances that prevent one from acquiring a disease like cancer but, when it comes to curing it???? It happens just enough times (sans any other possible contributors) to keep the dream alive but to rely on it as a good cure is like the saying "a fool wanders but a wise man travels".

I was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I didn't know my diagnosis while I was in Negril in March but I did have the ladies hand squeeze juice for me. I also have bladder cancer so I figured why not, try it out anyway. It was really tasty. They flavoured it with fresh limes and sugar. I drank a good 2 litres of it. I have no idea if it helps or not but I am glad I tried it.
