Does anyone own a GoPro camera?

I thought the way those things are designed, it might be a good option around beach sand and water.
Although they are advertised for people who are active....maybe they won't sell me one

I got one its a year old.I use in my race car 10 months out of a year.I'm going to bring it with us our next trip.No problems with is so far.Built VERY well!

I have a GoPro Hero 3, the new one has a flat glass instead of the curved one in the older models. This is specially good for underwater and you will get clearer video and pictures. I had the original GoPro and recently upgraded. I really like the Hero 3 but the battery life isn't as good as the Hero & Hero 2. Battery life gets even worse if you turn on the WiFi in the camera to remotely view and trigger the camera via your phone or tablet but I doubt many will be doing that while on the beach! I use that feature mainly to properly frame the shot and then turn it back off.

Thanks for the input. I may see if I can find a Hero 2 on CL used. Looks like a fun gadget.
