The first thing I do in my hotel room is check the air conditioner filter if it is accessible. 99.99% of the time it is filthy. I pull it out and clean it with a bleach solution and it really helps one's breathing.

Tell me more! Out of the 8 trips I have taken to Jamaica, 6 of them I have ended up with a nasty head and chest cold about three days in, sore throat, cough, stuffy/runny nose and just plain ickyness.. I haven't gotten sick the last two trips and *knock on wood* I won't get sick this April, I am hoping that since I am currently in the middle of a bad cold/flu that this will be enough, LOL! but I would love to know about some other options to ease the suffering should it happen! Is this something you can get at a local market? Or is it a tea?

See the pharmacist at the Negril Pharmacy. He will know what you need without a lot of drama and the price is reasonable. I had to get an antibiotic a few years ago and someone at my hotel told me to go there.

I get tonsillitis all the time. I always bring a dose of antibiotics with me prescribed from my Doctor in the US. In our 8 trips, I have only needed them once but I was glad I had them.
