American Airlines E Voucher - HELP!

Have a hefty e-voucher that I am planning to use when Christmas flights come out for next year (they are just starting to come out).
For you frequent travelers- if American and US Air merge, can I still use the e-voucher? Or is it safer to book a HIGH price now, just to be sure I can use?

Anyone with histories of vouchers and airlines merging please let me know. $2000 is way to much to let go to waste!!!

Everything I have read about the merger says that all miles, vouchers will be honored. In addition it is believed that even if they announce the merger soon, it will be months before the logistics are worked out and everything is combined in the day to day operations. Until that point both will continue to run/book as separate companies. This is all what I have read in news reports, so it could be true or total crap... but if I were you, I would not worry about it yet.

I should also mention that if you regularly fly US Air / AA the experts are saying that flight prices will go up after the merger, so you might want to book now rather than counting on the price coming down.

I had a similar situation with the merger of continental and united. Booked a trip to europe with continental for great low miles and latter canceled. After merger amount of miles needed for same trip increased by 15,000 miles

I can't wait for Southwest/Air Tran to start flying out of Dallas, after the good old "wright Amendment" fades into the Sunset.
Here is Dallas, the AA Gossip is that Vouchers, frequent flyer miles, etc. will be honored. As far as a prices increase, the prices are already banana's from Dallas, arghhhh! A far cry from a few years ago when Ryan Air and Champion gave some real comp. and tickets were almost 50% less to Jamaica!

    Happy Travels...
