Don't waste your time with explanations, people only hear what they want to hear.
I have been to Canoe and had to wait quite awhile for a good meal. New Years is a great example. However, I did show up with a big crowd without a prior heads up. A little extra hired help and Canoe will be all that it is raved to be. Beer is cold, french fries and everything else is real tasty, and the general vibe of the place is chill. If you want to bring a group do them a favor and call ahead........
