    Alfred's Ocean Resort Hotel?

    Hello & Happy New Year!

This year I will be traveling with a few pal's instead of the wife . All is good on the home front , it's just that we have a new baby girl to tend to this year & momma wants to stay home. So, anyway my wife knows I could use a break from the hustle & bustle work routine here in Michigan not to mention it's awful COLD right now & gave me the green light to head back to the island for a few days. As long as I behave myself that is hehehe.

So I have a question... being that I am going solo w/ a few buds our accommodations don't need to be as expensive or luxurious . I have found Alfred's to be a very cheap stay ( $60/night per room ). Has anyone stayed here ? Let me know the good & the bad please. I've done a little research & realize it could be quit noisy at night but like I said I will be w/ a few pal's & we can be quit loud ourselves. I am more concerned about the security & safety of this place.

Look forward to reading your comments!

If you haven't already checked Tripadvisor.com.....it seems to have good reviews.

I have not stayed at Alfreds, from what I have seen, spend more time at Alfreds than any other bar, it seems like a eclectic crowd and kind of a happening/party place, just my opinion, not a whole lot to base it on. I am in your same boat, less the new baby, I will be coming down solo, no problems either, lol , just the way it is this year. I be staying again at the Yellowbird, about 15 minute walk from Alfreds, first stayed their in the mid '70's and have stayed their 3/4 times over the last 5 years. Presently have a "Motel room" but considering one of their, sleeping rooms because I will be solo, spent a couple of nights their sleeping rooms a few years ago when their was a miscommunication about our arrival. No air and had to use outside shower/head but no problem mon it was clean and secure, only 60.00 a night, check out thier website. Personally I would take it over Alfreds, I know I would sleep better. Take it for what it is worth.

Have stayed at Alfred's for many years and found it to be safew, and a very nice place to stay. As stated befor, a very wide spread group of people, most like ourselves, have been there for many years. well located, and we will always go back

Not stayed at Alfred's either but Hidden Paradise almost right across the street is a decent hotel also and not expensive.

Have never been back in the hotel area, am considering Alfreds for my March visit, don't see that much information on the website or pics, any info would be appreciated if you have stayed their.

Alfred's is my favorite place to be on the beach, nice people, nice vibe, nice music, best fruit juice and nice sunset

I always like to stay at the $50-$60 joints on my several solo trips, had a look at the rooms at Alfred,s, they are a bit too rustic for me, some friends stayed there and like it there though. There are a lot of choices in that price range too.
