1st solo trip!!

Thank you SO much Jambarney! You can probably tell I'm feeling rather anxious about it and I really needed to hear your wonderful assurance that Hidden Paradise will be just fine for what I feel comfortable spending! Did you eat breakfast there? I was going to save the $10 extra but am now leaning towards pre-paying and not having to worry about it while there. Any tips? I emailed directly saying I'd like a coffee pot and was told that I could bring my own - true, but was hoping they could find one for me. Any preference for rooms? Thought I'd go for the deluxe to have the larger fridge and tv and just the one bed...thinking I'd request one towards the back so it's nice and quiet, hoping for a view of the mountains rather than buildings/pool?

Have stayed several times at both the Rayon and Hidden Paradise, love both. Rayon is nicer and being honest we would probably still be staying there but pricing compared to when we first started staying there inflated to a point that we moved on a few years ago. I'm sure many think it's still a bargain and who am I to disagree, however one trip we inquired about our usual room with plenty of notice and pricing was nearly double what we payed previous year, despite talking to owners. Too much competition for that.

Hidden Paradise on the other hand is awesome especially when you factor in the pricing. We love it. Everyone is different but from someone who has stayed a bunch at both places, NO brainer.......... Hidden Paradise.

Do you really need a TV? Wild Parrot is a great place, the bar that is, and I have heard nothing but good things about the rooms, while rustic, are clean. Can you take a laptop to get your TV fix if it should arise?

lol, I'm poor, if I had a laptop, I wouldn't be nickle and diming the hotel rate (or maybe moreso!) I really seriously considered WP and emailed them a while ago prior to extending the trip for just myself. I was told they had a kitchenette available but it was close to the road. Close to the road, almost doesn't matter then if I'm just across the road. I'm sure it would be booked now. And it's a bit more expensive than my Hidden Paradise price. Their summer prices don't start until May so a kitchenette is $95 for my dates. I'll definitely stay there at some point in the future though and I'll definitely go hang out at their bar/beach during the day this time around.

Seems to me you booked your April trip finally? If I see you, I'll introduce myself and let you buy me a drink!
