Dconkle..... they can go ahead and jump, I recently did. Swim over to the ladder like you always would, when he pulls out the ladder, look at him sternly in the eye and tell him to put the ladder back in....

If any one here knows,do you pay to jump and if so maybe the answer would be to pay on the way back up THE LADDER! Hmm just thinking out loud.
No, you do not have to pay to jump. Jump and do what others have said swim to the ladder and if it's not there demand that it be put back in the water.

If you are going to jump, I recommend leaving your money with someone at the top. You will be hassled for money by each lifeguard there every time you see them.

I put a few hundred J in the box at the top before I left. If you have one or two that lifeguards that help you out and make the day enjoyable, tip them directly before you leave.

I didn't realize at the time how dangerous jumping into water at that distance was. Many people have been injured attempting it, but thousands of others have had no problems. I went straight in and it still felt like someone slapped me on the ass as hard as they could.

I'm confused, we're tipping lifeguards now?
So it's the guards, the divers and the cave dudes?
ha. I don't remember all this action before but that was 14 years ago.

have you noticed that Blue Cross / Blue Shield has a quick clip of Rick's Cafe in one of their recent commercials?

I've jumped in straight, wrapped the girls up straitjacket style, and still came out feeling like I had bruised ribs.

Totally agree! (plus I am afraid of the deep water, so I would never jump... ever!)

A few years ago when we were in Montego Bay there was a young girl on her honeymoon staying at our resort (I think they were 2-3 days in at that point still had a week to go) they took a day trip to Negril and she jumped, hit the water wrong and was in a full back and neck brace. I felt so bad for her, you could see the pain on her face... What a way to spend your honeymoon!
