jan 23 - I think this may per date your Original Erica's Cafe sign!
Is Erica's still somewhere near mid way up the West End Road.
I remember they had the best fried chicken and you would wait for ever for your food to come, but you would be in company with the dogs and goats walking around waiting to eat what was left for them, if I am not mistaken you might even see a few of the chickens that had not made it to the fryer yet.

jan 24- 1982, back when eating was an adventure and would take up much of the day, walking to it waiting for it and guessing how it could be so good or what was in it.

One sign I have not seen posted yet is the ones hanging in most bars that says it is their intention to get a liquor license the first chance they get. I know i have a pic of one somewhere.
