Found the webcasts a year later & Rob complained (nicely) it was too long to type...Bnewbie was born & now down to Bnewb.

Around the time I had to create my very first email address I was living in Hawaii and about to start college.
Pagers were the big thing back then lol and everyone had a pager code you would type in front of the number so your friends would know it was you that was paging. My pager code was 9808
9 was my lucky number and 808 was the area code for Hawaii, it also (sort of) spelled Bob

So when it was time to come up with my email address I chose Marley9808 (Marley, because I was a huge Marley fan and 9808 because it was my "handle")
Over the years it then began to be used for everything emails, usernames, etc.
I was on another message board for the Marleys and began to be known as "Marley" or "Marley9808" so it has just stayed with me all of these years.....

Marley ... I often wondered where the 9808 came from! Have actually tried to figure it out My sister lived in HI and that 808 thing never crossed my mind!

I thought mine was pretty simple, but it was expressed to me, oh.............a year ago April to be exact that it made no sense, lol.

I too have been pronouncing your name Y P ohhgeee ... no idea why!

I work on and restore Musical Instruments and a lot of my clients call me Doc.....So..being a "doctor" for vintage instruments,,Muzikdoc was born...Besides unlike Katho, the name most of my friends call me, "dickhead", didn't feel appropriate.

Doc ... Fixing vintage instruments must be very cool! I can't wait to meet you, and destroy you ... of course

Lisa ... When I would tell Gary what so & so said on the board last year, I always said your name "Been Web" (because you were doing the webcasts, duh), until I finally asked you how you pronounce it! Love your story & the ending is great.
