I was there this time last year. Loved it. The old owner was cool as well as the staff. The place was clean.

The wife and I stayed at Home Sweet Home on 2 separate occasions last year. You can read about our first visit in the following trip report:

    http://negril.com/forum/showthread.p...-A-Trip-Report

We had a great stay, both times. HSH is a great value for what you get, although their rates did increase with the new owners. During our last stay, all of the rooms were in the process of being updated and two new rooms were being build. We haven't seen the finished product, but it should be nice. The overall vibe is rustic, but at the same time you can expect amenities like A/C, wifi, pool, restaurant and bar. Oh, and the staff is first rate!

Also look for trip reports from Guirigay and Vikman, both of whom have stayed at HSH.

We just stayed there for our second time three weeks ago. It is a nice time and the new owners are great and go out of their way to make your stay perfect. The new chefs at the restaurant cook up some great meals. All the staff are real nice and make you feel like a family member from day one. Already booked next year there.

Hey vikman, did you notice what improvements have been made to the regular seaview deluxe rooms? We stayed in the penthouse and noticed that they were painting and replacing light fixtures in the other rooms. Did they do anything else?

We are booked for two nights, just in a seaview deluxe room. I just wish that there was a refrigerator, but we can make due for two nights. With taxes the room is $180/nt for February. That's somewhat of a deal for us considering that we are staying 12 nights at Idle Awhile afterwards. I hope that we enjoy our stay and the new owner is very nice and friendly.

Call ahead of time and ask if you can rent a fridge. Under the old owner, they had a couple available.

On our first stay, all the fridges were rented-out when we asked, so the manager brought us an igloo cooler to keep our Red Stripes cold, and stopped by to refill the ice periodically.

He said that we could rent one, but I'm not going to bother for 2 nights. If i'm not drinking water, which is fine warm, then it will be rum punch from the bar. I will stock up at the Hi Lo after we leave HSH and fill the fridge at IA.
