    Black coral

    Hey boardies,

What's the poop on black coral there these days?

I seem to recall a guy at the roundabout craft market doing some pretty cool things with it.

(18 days and hours to go)

    Illegal?

That must be something new - there's stores of it in the Caymans - every time I've been to Jamaica I've seen it too.

According to several sources I found, trade in black coral as jewelry etc. is either illegal or subject to import/export restrictions. But like so many things in the third world, like lobster in your other thread, legality rarely enters into it when a buck can be made.

Hi Ras - you're so right.

Suffice to say that won't be indulging in lobster or buying any black coral !!
