PS St Anthony's Soup Kitchen has a breakfast programme for kids - I am sure they would welcome the help to get the food ready and give it out to the kids. THAT is an awesome experience, too! You need to be a morning person, though ... you need to be there by 6:30-7 (the gas station nearby has 24 hr coffee.
