Everyone,
Just wanted to check in we made it to Negril last night safe and sound. Our flight was delayed a bit but they put the pedal to the metal and we ended up only 15 minutes late landing. You have to love those flyboys on the return rides they had to fly back to Regina last night and made sure they didn't cause too much worry for both sets of travellers.
The line at immigration wasn't terrible but it could have been worse. Three planes landed right after us and it was lined up to the ramp. We made it through in about 25-30 minutes. All in all not too bad.
The best was walking out of the airport to see my brother Doc and his big grin. As soon as we saw him we truly knew we were in Jamaica! He had a Molson Canadian Cooler Bag full of goodies for Brenda and I. I sipped on Red Stripes all the way to Negril as we debated politics and heard all the latest news from our little community. Was awesome to spend such genuine time with someone we have both come to love as family.
We arrived at The Palms and the check in was smooth. Made all our arrangements. Rooms are really nice and they have done some nice renovations. I had heard negative things but once again its all from your perspective on how you see things. Considering we stay at Mariners/NBCC in the hotel portion these rooms are a few notches above those. And we love that place.
Got squared away in the room and made our way to the beach. Watching Brenda dip her toes in the ocean after all we have been through since the last time we were here was joyous. Cancer affects so many but my little Cancer Warrior kicked Cancer's ass and we have Negril as our reward for her hard work and fight.
Supper was great we served by Omar the bartender and Nicolette the waitress. We had Curried Chicken, Rice and Peas. It was heavenly. We dined about 20 feet from the ocean and were treated the most wonderful music in the world....the ocean waves.
We called it an early night and made plans to get on the beach asap today.
More to follow and pics will start tomorrow. One love brothers and sisters.....home soon come!
