~~ Sweetness Trip Reports - Day One (Part 3) Tensing FOOD

OMG....I thought Catcha had the best food in Negril but Tensing gives it a run for its money. Candlelight dinner by the sea started with the most delicious appetizer EVER which I will be copying. Fried Cho Cho with melted cheese baked on top and a salad w/balsamic. My fav dish of the entire trip. But wait there is more. My sweetie had Pumpkin Snappa and I had the Escovitch Fish both SUPERB.

Room comes with continental breakfast and it was PERFECT. I am never hungry until lunch so I eat light for breakfast so it was just right. Fresh fruit and toast w/PB and guava jam, fresh JA coffee and fresh squeezed OJ. Are you kidding me? Divine! More pics in next report of the property showing the amazing carving work, bridge, etc.
Get a napkin ready cuz you are soooooo gonna drool.........

Really nice photos of the food, which looks like they are very adept at "presentation". By the looks of the empty plate, you must have enjoyed it!

Yes the presentation was nice. I am a budget traveler for the most part but once in a while don't mind paying a bit more (US prices) for a nice meal as long as it hits the mark and OH BABY this one did. Delish!!!!

Sweetness your photos are lovely...thanks for your trip report!

Also I have a quick ? about your Escovitch. I had noticed other photos show a whole fish on a plate....but yours is a filet and looks so yummy. Does it just depend on where you go? Call me close minded but I don't think I can chow down if there's a head still connected to my meat (unless its a crawdaddy). lol

@lane Sugar just had a whole heap of puppies, just over a week or so ago, so probably held up tending to the little beauties
Here is a pic they posted on their fb page (awwwww)

Yes, I asked about the puppies but it seems they wanted some privacy (lol) Thanks Marlety they are too cute.

Hey Miss Tizzy - my neighbor here in Austin.....most places will serve whole fish and I have learned to LOVE it. Here in US I never tried it because I thought I would get tiny bones in my bites...but if cooked correctly and they type fish in JA that is so meaty (Jack fish for example) it pulls right away from the bone and is deliscious for real. Don't look em in the eye (lol)....some fancier places serve fillets (thats how its pronounced fillets not filet lol) and you can lick the plate like I did. You can ask but I encourage you to try them both.....I had fish almost every night. mmmmmm
Further in my reports I will show some pics from Sweet Spice (brown stew fish and it was fillet too) so few places have boneless........Peace
