Last time I stayed there the hotel policy was no outside guests. However, I believe last year I heard that they were open to outside guests who wanted to dine in the lodge. So perhaps that is true. Sorry that I do not have a definitive answer but I would say call or email them or even just stop by. If you are there now and you stop by you can simply ask to tour the property to get a look for future stays. I have done that at many properties before and they have always allowed it....that was how we found Catcha Falling Star years ago. And typically once on the property they are more than happy to serve you a drink or a meal.
Hope you are able to check it out, it is a beautiful property for sure
You can go there for dinner, we did in January...just call and let them know you're coming...and like Marley said you can probably just stop by and ask in the office to see the property...I'm sure it will be "no problem" :-)
It's a beautiful property...enjoy!
You can definitely go there for dinner. Just call ahead. The dining area is really small, and it is my understanding that of they have the entire property rented for a wedding or what not, they may not take reservations. Their kitchen produces some darn good food, but the staff is pretty small.
You may end up realizing what a fantastic place Tensing is and book your next trip there. If you go during the day, niney will probably show you around... The staff there is awesome.
We stayed there 2 years ago in rock cottage 1. Awesome place. The year before we stayed there, I was staying on the beach, but I came by and checked out the property. They had no problems with me visiting.
@ phineas we stayed on the other side of the resort this past trip, kind of noisy but great views. I have the red birch cottage booked for this year. Love that place.
anybody ?? how did Tensing Pen get its name ????

I was told by the owner that the Jamaican that owned the land had a dog named Tensing and keep him there.
So when they inquired about the property the Jamaican said that it was Tensing Pen.
You just have to love Jamaica!
One of the owners dogs got named Tensing.

There is/was still a dog name tensing there. He is a Rhodesian ridgeback, and runs the property with shuga, and beezy (one of shugas pups).
Possibly some of the most spoiled dogs on the island. I have some pics where shuga spent an entire breakfast with her head on my knee. There is a boardie here who goes to tensing about the same time as we do, and those dogs pretty much live with them the entire time they are there.
That is a great story about the name.
