So, back in 2012 while staying at White Sands, on a rainy hour, i was on the beach under the little shade hut chillin out. i find out that the other guy that is sitting under the shade hut is Fr. Jim from the local church accross from CoCo Lapalm. so i get talking to him and we get talking about the St. Anthony Soup Kitchen that Fr. Jim works with. The soup kitchen is now open 5 days a week and feeding many many kids either on the way to school or on the way home from school. They also have a van now and help to get some of the kids to school and a small thrift shop where you may buy things such as cloths and fipflops at a very small cost.
Information on this subject has been posted on this board before. I believe that this is such a wonderful thing that is going on right in Negril. The location is just on the outskirts or Negril around the roundabout toward Sav. Soooo at work each month we have a "Jeans Day" where we pay $2 to where jeans for the day and the procedes go to a charity. So, I requested that one of our jean day procedes be donated to St. Anthony Soup Kitchen. So here is my challange, YOU challange your work, to do the same as KI Krueger International in Green Bay WI. have a jean day and donate the procedes to St. Anthonys, this would be a outstanding thing for the struggling people of Negril and Jamaica. Lets try to help this cause in the place that we all love. Fr. Jim is a great guy and is very passionate about this. Unfortunetly my charity that i have requested "St Anthonys" has not yet been selected as a recipient. But i just wait my turn.
