This does look like a pretty sweet deal and I'm considering buying the Groupon.
Any feedback from folks that have stayed at the Westender? It gets solid reviews on TA and I know GerryG is a big fan, but how is it in terms of walkability? It seems pretty remote at the far end of the West End Rd, with not a lot of places within walking distance. My wife and I usually stay at Home Sweet Home, and we enjoy being able to walk out the front gate to stop at the grocery store, or any number of bars and restaurants. Is this an option at the Westender?
Yeah, you wont be able to do any of that out there. It's pretty far off from everything else. You feel like you are driving out into the countryside when you are headed out that way.
However, the property is pretty darn nice. I wouldn't be able to stay there for more than a day or two though. I can't sit still long enough.

Yep, that's what I'd be afraid of. I know taxis are an option, but what if we wanted to head to Mi Yard at 2:30 am for an egg sandwich? Seems like we'd be SOL. Plus I like the freedom of walking.
I'd consider buying the 2 night option then moving someplace else, but I have to talk the wife into splitting our stay. Once we get settled in somewhere, she doesn't like moving.
You might be better served just to plan a day trip there then.
I would stay there if I had a car or bike, they also have a shuttle not sure when it runs or if they charge.
Trip #59 most of February
If you have ready transpo like a scooter, the place is like the garden of Eden.
Their website says they have bicycles available for their guests. If I can ride a bike to Out of Town and Just Natural, then I'd be content. Not sure I'd ride a bike after dark, though.
The property looks amazing. I love a good bargain and this one is almost too good to pass-up, but I have to talk the wife into the remote location.
Stayed 3x, including recently. Yes. You can bike down to lighthouse area where just natural now is and to out of town pastry easily. The shuttle essentially is on the hour and you can arrange a pick back up. The cost is 3.50 pp one way which is reasonable. They do everything they can to accommodate you. The property is very nicely kept up, the views and peace and quiet are amazing! Jackie's yoga and spa next door is a bonus. The pool is good. There is on site bar and restaurant with some good options and its big enough to meet interesting people but small enough so it feels like your own place!
