I know it will be hot but how or what do you do when it is that hot? A friend who has been to Negril often says, "stay wet".

Yep, I was about to say the same, take frequent dips to cool off and stay hydrated....thats about all you can do
oh, and lots of cold and/or frozen tropical drinks of course![]()
Drink lots of water! Booze and pop do not count. I have seen several tourists through the years get sick from dehydration.

Alcohol will de-hydrate you ..........Beer is good, more water in it........small meals is best, drink water or better yet fresh juices with every meal....

Gatorade is very good at keeping you hydrated![]()
Just got back and I have to say I had a HARD time with the heat this reach. I think it was a couple things. I am a "soft" american and I live with AC 24/7 especially in Texas so I was not ready for it. I have been in June before but don't remember it being so humid and still. Some nights NO BREEZE on the cliffs and locked up in the block room w/fans was like an oven. During the day is better for me. Morning and evening are fine and comfortable (but LOTS of skeeters this year). During the day I stay in the shade and only go in the water for short periods. I used to be a sun worshiper but I guess I am getting to be a light weight. Drink lots of water, wear hat and sun screen and enjoy AC at the grocery and some restaraunts (lol)....that's what I did. LOVE route taxis because its so breezy driving down the road (lol). ENJOY

Stay wet, BUT.. make sure you have SPF on your lips in the water!
BRING Blistex or something with at least a SPF of 15, or higher.
It was so hot in June when i was there, i ended up with blisters on my bottom lip from staying in the water so much.
Also, i have a bucket hat that i wear on my head in the heat... i wet it at night, and stick it in the freezer.
That hat keeps me nice and cool for some time.
