A couple of you have asked about Merrils. This was my fourth stay at Merrils hotels. I have stayed at MI once, and M2 three times. I have never stayed at Merrils 3 nor has it ever been open when I visited however I have always visited in the off season. To me, Merrils has always been very good value, and in an excellent location. The rooms have always been clean and if something needed fixing it has always been promptly attended to. The bar is open from 10 AM to 10 PM. To be honest I don't really know what drinks are included in the AI plan as I just stay with Appletons and coke. The food is served buffet style for the three meals and is what I would term as adequate, although I have had some great food there too. There is an omelette station for breakfast. They generally post the menus at both properties, so if you don't like the menu at one, walk a block and eat at the other. Because the place is so well priced, I don't mind skipping a few included meals and going elsewhere to eat occasionally.
