Like many on the board Betty and I rushed out on first night to one of our favorite places to chill and eat.
We arrived around 5pm and Rob had the broadcast up and running while Lisa was chatting with people in the chat room.
The steel drum band was getting set up and I gave a few things to the drummer and the band to fix up their drum set, they were thrilled. Gotta keep the music flowing , mon.
The Thursday broadcast is a great day to meet up with fellow boardies, friends and new folks as well, and this visit was nice on all fronts. Shout out to Jenn, Debbie, Carol, Deb, Patty and Kirby and soooo many more...lol
So nice to see you all.
I had been looking forward to having my fav, the Chili Coconut Shrimp at the Canoe for months now and I was drooling as I waited for our order to arrive.
Betty ordered the chicken and plain rice and our order was served in a prompt fashion. a one cocktail wait...
Hot-Hot-Hot.....
This doesn't mean our food was spicy. It was served PIPING HOT .
I'm one of those people who love HOT FOOD.
It's rare to get a good hot meal sometimes and on this visit the Canoe had me on the first ouch.
The taste, was awesome , great use of spice and veg , cooked right, outstanding.
Betty also loved her chicken and was nuts for the plain rice, you do get sick of peas and rice.
I'm not a huge rice eat, I like , just not lots. Well let me tell you , we both cleaned up a huge portion.
I don't know what was in the plain rice but it was wonderful.
Ok here's deal, if you do nothing else on your vacation go to the Canoe and have the following.
The House special dessert is a Pineapple cold piece of shear heaven, served with lots of whipped cream, OMG.
Along with French Press Blue Mountain Coffee, the coffee Betty loved. Gotta get me a press like that for home.
As the steel drum band rocked the place out we met several newbies who were staying at Judy House and it was their last night. They raved about Sue and all the places she had shown them, and how they were coming back for sure to Jamaica.
Caught a cab back to the Sea Star and after one night cap, it was off to sleep.
WE are Blessed
