I don't see how a restaurant catering to the Russian palate would turn Negril into a tourist trap...lol! Plenty of Jamaican food everywhere, that will never change! Deep breaths people!

Where' the Scottish food? I want a Haggis stall!!!!!
Been coming to Negril for 30 years, never seen a square sausage or black pudding supper anywhere.
And I've never been able to buy a deep fried Mars Bar!!!
    Racist I call it.

Rise early, treat everyday as though it's your last and your last day as it's your first.

    I Go to.....
    Brooklyn for cheesecake
    Manhattan for fine dining
Harlem for soul food and fish/ chips
    Bronx for Spanish food
    IHOP for pancakes
Sports bar for Football/ beer/trash talking
    Mom for childhood favors
And Jamaica for ........well you know.

Yes, there will still be plenty of Jamacian food everywhere( I usually go in the hills to eat authentic Jamaica food), but what's next.
I wish investors will leave Negril the way it is. I know it's going to change, because making money supersedes tradition and originality. When it becomes to much for me, I'll look elsewhere. The more I think about it, maybe I'm being selfish. God for give me.

Rob, I agree with not going to Kingston. Thats why I never went. Been to just about every Parish except Kingston. And to clarify myself, Nothing is wrong with Kingston. I just have no desire to go there since I live in a big city.

    Spot on too, Gunko.

Perhaps if some of you "tourists" ventured out on the island you would see that the pasta, burgers, pizza, etc. are not so available there either. MissAnna doesn't seem to be wanting radical changes to everyone else's diet so why do people ridicule her simply pointing out to Jamaican business people that Russians spend money too?

Jamaican's are enterprising people and will pick up on where money is coming from and will eventually cater to those needs anyways. She is just trying to help the process along a likkle.

True! Usually after about a week in Negril, while I LOVE the food, I long for a good burger. Thank God there are now good places to get a good burger (and pizza) in Negril. No different than other folks craving their native foods.

I bet Mrs Anna the travel agent BOOKS these vacations and therefore Profits form the bookings. Negril doesnt need the Russians, the Russians need Negril so ya know deal with it. I find the statement to be very Bully type. I spend money there also, lots but I dont make demands...

How well I remember my first trip to Paris walking around in the early morning desperately asking locals for a restaurant with "cafe Americain". I don't recall anyone suggesting I would change Parisian culture forever or that I stay home if I don't want teeny tiny expresso.

We should not forget that Negril is a tourist destination. When we are there we are tourists. Happy tourists=more tourists=more $ and jobs for Jamaica.
